Think Tux

For various types of social functions, dinner parties and other evening events, nothing beats the elegance of wearing a tux. Men who walk in clad in one are definitely set to turn heads as this fashion do not only exude class but also makes a man look really smart. Over the years it has evolved and many tailors have come up with variations for men to choose from. While the traditional is black, in some parts of the world it is totally acceptable to wear one in a lighter shade such as white particularly because of the hot climate or warmer seasons of the year. Pink and baby blue color variations have been available but it is not advisable to wear such colors if one is to attend a formal event.

It is advisable, though, to take into consideration the color of the breast shirt. It is commendable to match the breast shirt’s color with that of your date’s dress. This is particularly important in weddings. Try to wear a breast shirt of a different hue so as not to cast a wrong one on the bride’s dress. Off-white is as acceptable as just complimenting that of your date’s dress color.

When it comes to fabrics used for the tux, wool is often one of preference while polyester or wool-polyester blends are less favored. Buttons are a matter of personal preference. While some find it more fashionable to have lots of buttons, single or dual buttoned ones are far more traditional as far as appearance is concerned.

If you plan on renting tuxedos, it is advisable that you inform the tailor at least three months from the occasion you are supposed to attend. This will give the tailor ample time to alter the tux to your measurements. However, if you are one who attends formal, social gatherings at least thrice a year, it is much better if you have one of your own.

The elegance of the tux is unparalleled. Sporting one not only makes you look good, it also makes you feel good and confident. And while many get intimidated and have second thoughts about wearing it right, it is best to consult a tailor preferably one referred to you by a friend and telling him your concerns about fabric, cut, and even the price tag. Definitely there is something you can agree upon and he will most probably have a handful of tips and ideas for you to work around on. It all comes down to a personal sense of functionality, durability and style. So go ahead and use your creativity and you are a step closer to turning heads on that special occasion.
