Wool Suits of All Time

Men are always at their best when wearing suits. Usually, choice of clothes depends on who they are and what they are in the society. Many cold countries often use wool fabric in clothes to fight the freezing atmosphere in their place. But there are different kinds of wool, some of it is not good to wear and some of it is based on a high-quality production or branding. Here are the different kinds of wool fabric that you can use to create a wool suit.

Worsted fabric:

It is known to be the best when it comes to suit material. It is often the gabardine or your mid-weight corded wools. The durability is also long span and usually fine for year-round wear. It can also be in light or heavy design depending how it is weaved, but most of the time it is in the mid weight class.

If you saw a “high -twist” 100 or super 110 on an advertisement, the suit is worsted wool yarn twisted in the usual 60 to 80 twist fabric. It is finer compare to the ordinary worsted, but take note that this suit is often used in summer, fall, and spring but never in winter.

Tweed:

A very heavy suit fabric and often used by those living in cold countries. It has a crude texture and used as a sport coat for shooting and hunting. This wool fabric was weaved and finished for centuries and highly insulating on water.

Tropical:

A type of wool crepe with a light weight fabric and often used when summer season enters. It is used by people living in tropical countries because of its cool soothing feeling when wearing it. It is lighter than the other wool suits, but you must be patient in dry cleaning because it easily crinkles.

Herringbone:

Herringbones are difficult to make, because it handmade. The zigzag patterns can be confusing and also has a broken weave.

Flannel:

This fabric can be produced by worsted or woolen yarn. It is also the heaviest among the non- tweed wool suits and suitable for winter because of its warm feeling when wearing it. Flannels are nice when you are outside but not good for office environment.
